Manton Christian Camp 2024 Handbook

Welcome! We are thankful that you have chosen to spend time here at Manton Christian Camp. MCC is an outdoor setting where people can come to know Jesus Christ and be discipled, renewed, and connected with other Christians. We desire that everything that happens at this camp be to the glory of our Lord, and that you leave Manton Christian Camp refreshed and renewed.

 

General Policy

 

Campsite and rental lodging reservations and check-in must be done online prior to setting up camp. For assistance, find instructions at the Welcome Center or call 231.824.3200.If you are staying in a private cabin or annually rented campsite, contact the Site Manager to let us know when you are staying. Private cabin and campsite maximum occupancy is eight (8) persons.Only one car is allowed per campsite or cabin. Second cars and visitor’s cars must be parked in public areas by the East gate, Tabernacle, or Dining Hall. Please do not park on empty campsites.Camping units (RVs) and tents in campsites only. They are not allowed in the private cabin areas.Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. We ask that all non-campers be off camp property by 11:00 pm. All campers and visitors should be quiet and not disturb other guests. Pedestrians have the right-of-way on all roads and sidewalks. Only licensed drivers are allowed to operate any type of motorized vehicle. The speed limit for all wheeled vehicles is 7 MPH. Campers under the age of 18 must have adult supervision who will be responsible for the camper’s actions and safety.Campfires are permitted at campsites only in a fire ring. Campfires in the cabin areas must be fully contained and elevated. Trash in campfires or left in fire rings is not allowed.Dogs and other pet animals are allowed on the campground as a privilege. Manton Christian Camp reserves the right to ask anyone to remove their animal from the campground if it becomes an annoyance or dangerous to other campers.Pets are not allowed to be left outside unattended. While outside they must be leashed (6 feet or less), and kept under control at all times.The dog run is located in the area by the Sanitation station. All droppings must be cleaned up by the owner.It is the owners’ responsibility to be sure all shots and licenses are up to date when on the grounds.Animals are not allowed in family areas. These areas include:Tabernacle, Dining Hall, Bible School Building, Youth Building, Oasis (Pool, pavilion area). - Please be considerate of those that may have a fear of dogs or other pets. Any camper destroying or damaging property will be expected to make full restitution. Manton Christian Camp is an alcohol, marijuana, and illegal drug free campground. The use of these substances is strictly prohibited. Smoking of tobacco or vaping are only allowed in the designated area located at the South East corner of the grounds.The washing of vehicles or changing the oil on vehicles is not permitted on the campground.No hunting or discharge of firearms is allowed on campground property.No fireworks or sparklers of any type are permitted on campground property.If you leave the campground, be sure to secure your campsite. Manton Christian Camp will not be responsible for lost or stolen property.When breaking camp, your campsite must be free of all trash and personal items such as clothes lines, firewood, etc. Household garbage only can be placed in the provided dumpsters. The dumping of non-household garbage is strictly prohibited.

 

Pool UseThe pool is swim at your own risk - no lifeguard on duty. Manton Christian Camp assumes no liability. For daily use, see current posted pool hours and rules. The pool or splash pad area may be closed at times for a private reservation or group camp use.Modest swimwear is the rule, and cover up is required to and from the pool area.Camping SeasonsThe campground officially opens May 1 and closes November 30. During this time, facility use (restrooms, showers, etc.) will only be available weather permitting. Water systems will be shut down before November 30. Between December 1 and April 30 the campground facilities will be shut down and the following will apply:A minimum of (2) porta-jons will be provided for camper use.Electricity on the campground will be turned on only as needed for campers to use during their stay. Water is available at frost proof spigots.Campers staying more than (10) days must be approved by the MCC board. During this time campers will be charged for their electricity use in addition to the nightly fee.Private Cabin Fee and Use PolicyAnnual cabin fees are to be paid in full before June 1 of each year.Annual cabin fees include nightly stays between May 1 and November 30. Nightly fees will apply between December 1 and April 30.At the completion of each stay, electricity must be turned off.(See website for current fees)Campsite Fees and Use PolicyAnnual campsite fees include nightly stays between May 1 and November 30. Nightly fees will apply between December 1 and April 30. Only one unit (camper, RV) per site. One extra (2 adult size) tent will be allowed.At the completion of each stay, water and electricity must be unhooked and stored.(See website for availability and fees)Rental Lodging Fees and Use PolicyAvailable between May 1 and November 30. During this time, facility use (restrooms, showers, etc.) will only be available weather permitting.When checking out, leave the room clean and remove all trash. Leave the key at the Welcome Center or with the Site Manager. (See website for availability and fees)

 

Final NoteTermination of tenancy can result from violations of any campground rules or objectionable conduct and will be at the discretion of the Camp Board or the Camp Director. If evicted there will be no refund of fees paid.
